Why private practice pricing is different
As a physician-owned private practice, Synergy Rheumatology does not charge facility fees. When the same services are provided at a hospital-based outpatient practice, facility fees — charges for using the hospital's infrastructure — can add hundreds or thousands of dollars to the bill.
A rheumatology consultation that costs $350 here may bill at $1,500 or more at a hospital outpatient facility once facility fees are included. The clinical service is identical — the difference is purely structural.
