Clinical Research
Access to emerging therapies — in the same office where you receive your care
Synergy Rheumatology operates an active clinical research site in partnership with Paradigm Research. Our patients have the opportunity to participate in trials for the latest rheumatologic treatments, with Dr. Fellows serving as principal investigator.
How our research site works
We've partnered with Paradigm Research to open a dedicated clinical trial site within our Carlsbad office. Paradigm is an established clinical research organization that conducts trials across multiple medical specialties.
This partnership means trials happen here — with a dedicated research coordinator staffed in our office and the equipment necessary to conduct studies on-site. Patients enrolled in a trial complete most or all of their study check-ins in the same location where they already receive their rheumatologic care.
Physician-led
Dr. Fellows serves as principal investigator, directly overseeing every trial conducted at our site.
On-site
Trial visits happen in our office with a dedicated research coordinator — no separate facility.
Rheumatology-focused
Our trials target rheumatologic conditions — the same diseases we treat in practice every day.
Participating in a clinical trial
Clinical trials offer access to new treatments before they're widely available. Not every patient is a candidate for every study — eligibility depends on your diagnosis, current medications, and the specific trial requirements.
Ask about active studies
If you're interested in research, let us know at your next visit or contact our office. We can tell you which studies are currently enrolling.
Eligibility screening
If a study matches your condition, our research coordinator will review the eligibility criteria with you and determine if you're a candidate.
Enrollment and participation
Eligible patients who choose to enroll complete their trial check-ins at our office. Your rheumatologic care continues alongside the study.
Participation in clinical trials is always voluntary. You can withdraw from a study at any time without affecting your ongoing care.
